An Aussie Caipirinha

The Caipirinha is Brazil's national cocktail . It is iconic and is traditionally made with cachaça which is a sugar sugarcane spirit.

And this brings me to JimmyRum craft distillery which is an Aussie spirit company in Victoria which just so happens to make spirits which legally can't be called rum yet as by Australian law the spirit must be aged for 2 years in barrel to be called rum . So essentially what we have at the minute is an Aussie half way rum that I'm making into the Aussie Caipirinha!!

In this recipe I'm using their silver rum , sugar and lime .Yes that simple.

This is such a clean drink and really is delicious. You've got lovely fresh lime , sweetness from the sugar and the JimmyRum has a lovely funkiness which in my opinion would be hard to tell the difference between it and cachaça.

Ingredients

2 oz. Silver JimmyRum

1 large lime quartered

2 teaspoons of Sugar

Method

Muddle sugar and limes in a large rocks glass .

Add silver JimmyRum

Add cracked ice and give it all a good stir to combine

Lime wheel to garnish

Drink down and enjoy Rustys this one is a belter of a recipe .
